Netflix's The Witcher has proven to be a massive hit for the streaming hub, so it makes sense it would want to capitalize on that. Today we learn that will come via a new spinoff film, though of the animated variety.
Netflix revealed today it is working an an animated Witcher project called Nightmare of the Wolf, which will expand on the show/game/book's world and explore "a powerful new threat facing the Continent."
The animated film will come from Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and producer Beau DeMayo, as well as animation house Studio Mir.
The news of Nightmare of the Wolf follows the recent announcement that The Witcher was watched by 76 million households in its first month on the streaming service, making it the biggest first season debut in Netflix's history.
As previously reported, Netflix has already renewed The Witcher for Season 2.
