Call it what you will, but there's no denying that Zooey Deschanel's movies have always maintained a similar look. Her latest, The Driftless Area, might take more of a mysterious thriller tone, but there's no denying that the trailer looks pretty damn adorkable.
The indie flick marks the first feature from director Zachary Sluser. It stars Deschanel as Stella, an enigmatic woman who may or may not be the ghost of a woman who died in a fire. Pierre (Anton Yelchin) falls in love with her, and attempts to avenge her supposed death by getting back at John Hawkes' character.
Adding to the indie cred, the film also features appearances from Alia Shawkat and Aubrey Plaza. But it's not a comedy.
