Following its announcement this past April, the Dexter revival now has a release date and a new trailer.
Dexter: New Blood will premiere November 7 at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime, and as you'll see below, the series finds Michael C. Hall's serial killer adjusting to life in the fictional, snowy small town of Iron Lake, NY. However, the latest tease confirms that Hall's "Dark Passenger" is still lying in wait.
The Dexter: New Blood trailer was premiered during a San Diego Comic-Con panel held last weekend (July 25) with Hall, new cast member Julia Jones and producers.
Hall shared that the negative reaction to the 2013 finale of Dexter played "a huge part" in returning to his role for the revival.
"I think the ending was mystifying at best to people. Confounding, exasperating, frustrating, and on down the line of, you know, negative adjectives," Hall shared of the finale [via Entertainment Weekly]. "And I think this is a show that is very important to all of us, and the chance to revisit it and maybe, in the process, redefine the sense of the show's ending, the sense of the show's legacy more broadly, was certainly a part of our motivation. No doubt."
Dexter: New Blood will also star Clancy Brown, Michael Cyril Creighton, Alano Miller, Johnny Sequoyah, Jack Alcott, Jamie Chung and Oscar Wahlberg. It has also been reported that original series stars Jennifer Carpenter and John Lithgow will appear.
