The Batman is resuming production after star Robert Pattinson reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.
On September 3, production on the anticipated Matt Reeves film was halted in London after an unconfirmed crew member contracted the virus. However, neither Warner Bros. nor Pattinson confirmed that it was the star who contracted COVID-19 — despite widespread reports stating that it was.
Today the film is now getting back on track, as a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Pictures confirmed to Variety that work on the film will now resume.
"Following a hiatus for COVID 19 quarantine precautions, filming has now resumed on The Batman in the U.K.," a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Pictures told Variety.
So far, it seems the film is sticking to its latest release date of October 1, 2021.
As previously reported, The Batman is being directed by Reeves. And in addition to Pattinson taking on the role of Batman, the film stars Jeffrey Wright, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, John Turturro, Andy Serkis, Jayme Lawson and Peter Sarsgaard, among others.
