We were certain that the speedy blue beast Sonic was going to flop when we first saw the terrifying images and trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog, but thanks to some sobering FX fixes, the Jeff Fowler-directed movie ended up being shockingly good. And now we can't wait for the sequel, which now has a release date.
Since they won't be giving Sonic any digital dental surgery, the new Sonic movie will arrive on April 8, 2022.
Better yet, they're just calling it Sonic the Hedgehog 2. So simple a title, yet it contains everything we could possibly want or need.
