'Sex and the City' Sequel Series Sets December Premiere

HBO has its hands full with the upcoming Sex and the City sequel series — what with having to fill the void that was Kim Cattrall's iconic Samantha and the tragic passing of the franchise's Stanford (played by the beloved Willie Garson). Despite the challenges, the series is on pace to arrive this year, and now, thanks to Sarah Jessica Parker herself, we have something to look forward to this holiday season.

SJP has filled viewers in on when to expect And Just Like That... and we're now looking at a December release. Parker wasn't specific on the date, but knowing corny Carrie, it wouldn't be surprising to get the reboot just in time for Christmas.

She delivered the news in a short teaser, which dropped today. "Shooting, as we speak, the next chapter of Sex and the City — or as we like to call it, And Just Like That... — with some beloved friends. But in the meantime," she says in the clip before revealing a title card that spells out the December release.

As previously reported, the 10-part series will follow Carrie (Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they "navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s."

Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker and Karen Pittman will also join the cast. Cattrall made it clear early on that she would not appear in any more SATC properties. Garson was set to appear in the reboot, however, it's unclear if his death affected the production.
