Big's dead, and Aidan's back, baby! Despite the controversies that surrounded Season 1 of Sex and the City sequel series And Just Like That..., Season 2 is underway, and will now reunite Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw with former flame/hot carpenter Aidan Shaw, played by John Corbett.
Deadline reports that the actor will make his return to the HBO Max original for a multi-episode arc despite not appearing in Season 1.
Executive producer Michael Patrick King had previously explained Aidan's absence in the first chapter, telling Deadline:
It really just felt like this was a lot for Carrie. This season was a lot. We wanted to get her through [Big's death] and into the light — the last episode is called, "Seeing the Light." We wanted to get her out. [Aidan's return] is a big storyline that everybody at home wrote that we had never intended.
Whether or not Carrie and Aidan will rekindle their spark remains to be seen — though with Big (Chris Noth) no longer standing in the way (thanks to Peloton), anything could happen.
