Morgan Wallen Booted from 'SNL' for Partying Without a Mask

It's now unclear who could be this weekend's musical guest

Morgan Wallen was set to be this weekend's musical guest on Saturday Night Live, but that's no longer the case, as the country star has just been given the boot for not following COVID-19 protocols.

Yesterday (October 6), a video emerged of Wallen partying it up without a face mask and seemingly showing the singer kissing random fans. This led to more than a little criticism, and now the move has also cost him his high-profile SNL slot.

"My actions from this past weekend were pretty short-sighted, and have obviously affected my long-term goals and my dreams," Wallen said in a recently released Instagram video. "I respect the show's decision because I know I put them in jeopardy, and I take ownership for this. I'd like to apologize to SNL, to my fans, to my team for bringing me these opportunities, and I let them down. And on a more personal note, I think I have some growing up to do."

You can watch the Instagram video below, where you'll also find those party clips.

Despite the bad news, Wallen did say SNL producer Lorne Michaels told him the singer could appear on the show on a future date.

Bill Burr is still set to serve as the host for this weekend's episode, but it's now unclear who may be doing the music.
