Matt Reeves's cast for The Batman is falling into place, but it won't include Jonah Hill. The Mid90s director and comedic actor reportedly passed on a role in the film.
As Variety reports, Hill was in negotiations to play either the Riddler or the Penguin, but talks fell through.
Upon hearing the news that Hill passed up the role of the Penguin, Seinfeld star Jason Alexander piped up and suggested that he should be considered for the role based on his experience as a marine biologist.
While the role of the villain may still be up in the air, Reeves has confirmed that Robert Pattinson will play Batman, and Zoe Kravitz will step into Catwoman's suit.
Filming is expected to begin later this year or in early 2020. The Batman will arrive in theatres on June 25, 2021.

Ok, Jonah Hill passed. Clearly the next move for Penguin has to be someone familiar with marine biology. Ahem.
