We're at last getting a proper glimpse of Tom Hardy as infamous gangster Al Capone via the first trailer for the anticipated Capone. And better yet, instead of postponing the film until god knows when, it's been confirmed that Capone will premiere on streaming services in May.
Director Josh Trank shared the first official trailer this afternoon, with the biopic taking place 10 years into Capone's prison sentence. Shining a different light on the gangster, the film will find Hardy playing a 47-year-old Capone as he begins suffering from dementia and his haunted past of violence.
Besides Hardy, the film will star Linda Cardellini, Matt Dillon, Kyle MacLachlan and Jack Lowden.
To refresh your memory, Capone marks the first film from Trank since his Fantastic Four flick bombed big-time at the box office back in 2015.
Capone will be available to stream online on May 12, but Trank said he still hopes the film will get a proper theatrical release later this year.
