Following last November's news that Mark Wahlberg had joined the project, Antonio Banderas has now signed on to join the film adaptation of PlayStation's Uncharted videogame series.
Deadline reports that Banderas will co-star alongside Wahlberg and Tom Holland in the forthcoming feature, while Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle have also joined the cast.
The site also notes that Ruben Fleischer has also been named director, taking the reins from the previously attached Travis Knight. At present, the Uncharted film is set for release March 5, 2021.
Created by developer Naughty Dog, Uncharted began its main series with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, released for PlayStation 3 in 2007. By 2017, the series had sold over 41 million copies worldwide.
An Uncharted adaptation directed by David O. Russell was previously set for release in June 2017, but it was ultimately pulled in September 2016.
