It's been three years since Oregon stoner rock slingers YOB sparked up a new full-length, but the band have now confirmed that another album is on the way and that it will be issued through their new label home, Neurot Recordings.
The partnership with Neurot was revealed today (February 13) in a press release, along with news that the act's as-yet-undetailed seventh studio LP is expected to land sometime in the fall. While specifics are slim on the set, which follows the trio's 2011 effort Atma, guitarist/vocalist Mike Scheidt commented that it will be an honour to issue the album through the Neurosis-run record label.
"Travis [Foster, drums], Aaron [Rieseberg, bass] and I agree that Neurosis is the epitome of forward-thinking heavy music, made with zero compromise," he praised of their new label bosses in a statement. "Our love for their music is total. Neurot's dedication to putting out uncompromising music is no different. To have this opportunity to put an album out on their label is an honour that runs deep. We cannot wait to share our new music with Neurot and our friends worldwide."
Neurosis's Scott Kelly, meanwhile, shot back some good vibes by saluting YOB's riffs and "unwavering commitment" to their craft, adding in a statement of his own, "There's is nothing heavier on the face of this earth than this band."
While it's been a few years since YOB delivered a new album, a remastered reissue of the act's 2003 set Catharsis was delivered last fall.
