Singaporean grindcore heroes Wormrot have announced the departure of drummer Vijesh Ghariwala, leaving the group with one remaining member.

Sunday (July 7), co-founding guitarist Nurrasyid Juraimi announced, "After much reflection and mutual respect, Vijesh and I have decided to part ways. We're grateful for the journey we've shared and we look forward to new opportunities individually."

Ghariwala joined Wormrot in 2015, first appearing on the band's third album Voices the following year.

In 2022, Wormrot released their Exclaim! Staff Pick-certified fourth album Hiss, which also marked their final recording with co-founding vocalist Arif Suhaimi. Without a permanent vocalist, 2024 has seen the band touring with Gabriel Dubko of Implore.

"I'd like to thank Vijesh for his years of contribution, and everyone for believing in us along the way," Juraimi's statement continued, noting, "I will carry on to build Wormrot from the ground up again."
