Wine Lips were part of Exclaim!'s Class of 2019, and they subsequently signed with Stomp Records for 2021's Mushroom Death Sex Bummer Party. Now, the Toronto garage punks are keeping the momentum going with a full-length concert film.
Live at Lee's Palace chronicles Wine Lips' hometown release show for Mushroom Death Sex Bummer Party. Vocalist Cam Hilborn said in a statement to Exclaim!, "We were lucky enough to hit that window with COVID where the capacity restrictions got lifted so we were able to pack Lee's! It was our first show back in about two years, so it was nice to see everyone going nuts and crowd surfing and having a good time, and you can really see that in the video!"
The film is just shy of an hour in length, in which time Wine Lips play most of the songs from Mushroom Death Sex Bummer Party along with some older tunes. There are 15 tracks in all.
Live at Lee's Palace was filmed by Jamie Gagain and Jack Hawley, with audio recording by Eric Stecki, mixing and editing by Taylor Lucas, and lights by Josh Bordenko.
