Early next year, Jack Tatum will revive his Wild Nothing project for a new album called Life of Pause. Before that, he'll appear on Driftless Recordings' new ambient compilation.
As its title suggests, Driftless Ambient II is the label's second compilation of ambient music from artists who don't always make ambient music. The release includes contributions from Megafortress, CFCF, Ducktails' Matt Mondanile and others.
"Above" is one of two entries from Tatum. Though less than a minute in length, the song builds an excellent neoclassical groove out of busy synth work.
