Foxygen hadn't performed since 2018 — despite releasing their latest album, Seeing Other People, in 2019 — but that all changed last night (December 19). The band reunited at Zebulon in Los Angeles, taking the stage for a surprise set during Jonathan Rado's solo album release show.
Rado released For Who the Bell Tolls earlier this month, and the celebration saw him get back together with Sam France — Foxygen's other half — to perform songs like "How Can You Really" and "In the Darkness" live for the first time in five years. The duo were backed by the Lemon Twigs.
Rado and the Lemon Twigs collaborated on Tim Heidecker's Fear of Death back in 2020. This year, Foxygen's breakthrough album, We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic, celebrated its 10th anniversary.
