The Lemon Twigs have lifted the curtain on their fourth album. Brothers Brian and Michael D'Addario will share Everything Harmony on May 5 via Captured Tracks.
Following 2020's Songs for the General Public, Everything Harmony is said to find the brothers D'Addario taking inspiration from "the likes of Simon & Garfunkel, Arthur Russell and Moondog" in crafting a 13-track set that swing "between moments of depression and isolation and episodes of dizzying euphoria."
You can get a glimpse of what that sounds like with "Any Time of Day," which arrives alongside a music video you can view below. As the duo share, the song was born from a creative endeavour that unfortunately was never completed.
"We were hired to write material and act in an interactive TV show about an imaginary '70s brother band," the brothers explain in a statement. "We wrote a bunch of KISS-type songs for the soundtrack plus this one. This one wasn't quite right for the show, so we held it back. For a month in 2019, we filmed all eight episodes. In the fallout of a high-profile lawsuit taken by the company against Quibi, the show was shelved and remains on someone's hard drive if not completely erased to save space. The song's about the cyclical nature of life. Everything goes on and on. Out with the old, in with the new!"
The Lemon Twigs have also shared plans to take Everything Harmony on tour in North America this spring. In April and May, the duo will play 17 shows on the continent, making Canadian stops in Toronto and Montreal. Find their complete itinerary below.
