Watch Maggie Rogers Cover Tate McRae's "greedy" for BBC's Live Lounge

Please believe and/or don't forget me

Maggie Rogers is gearing up to release her third studio album, Don't Forget Me, next week, and has paid a visit to BBC Radio 1's infamous Live Lounge in anticipation. As is protocol, in addition to delivering an off-the-floor performance of the record's title track and lead single, the singer-songwriter performed a cover of "greedy," Tate McRae's JUNO Award-winning hit single.

Although Rogers has never really dabbled in the type of TikTok-dominating dance-pop sound McRae embraced on her sophomore album Thank Me Later, the Harvard graduate is certainly as far away from it as she's ever been on her new material, which has a raw-hemmed twang and organic instrumentation. Accordingly, this is the treatment she gives "greedy," strumming on an acoustic guitar while accompanied by a pianist and a lap steel player.

The honey-dipped warmth of Rogers's notably not Auto-Tuned voice, which sounds in fine form, is the main vehicle for bringing the pop smash into a more folk-y, country territory — which is certainly also trendy as hell right now. Listen to her rendition below.
