Twitching Tongues drummer Cayle Sain — who also played in Downpresser, Mizery, God's Hate, Fuming Mouth, Betrayal, Ghostemane, If I Die First and Troncale — has died. He was 31.
Sain died yesterday (December 10) at a Southern California residence, according to government records. A cause of death has yet to be released.
UPDATE (12/12, 5 p.m. ET): A GoFundMe has been launched on behalf of Sain's family for his memorial alongside a message from organizers:
Our beloved Cayle Sain has passed away suddenly and tragically at the age of 31. Cayle was a pillar of the hardcore punk music community, a master-level drummer and a great friend to anyone he so much as spoke to. If you knew him he loved you, and he'll live forever through his countless recorded performances and beautiful memories he made with everyone he encountered.
Cayle is survived by his single mother, Kathy, his brother, Taylor and his girlfriend, Hailey. We'd like to support them in this trying time and give back to the family that gave us such a bright light in the world. The funds will contribute to his memorial and his family. Cayle Sain forever and always. Thank you for all of your love and support.
The tragic news began circulating on social media after being confirmed by the band, with members Colin and Taylor Young further eulogizing their late bandmate. The former credited him for saving Twitching Tongues and multiple other local bands as "the rhythm backbone of Southern California," while the latter cited his "immeasurable mark on this world."
