Tim Baker has announced plans for a new EP, aptly titled Survivors. The record from the former Hey Rosetta! frontman arrives on July 10 via Arts & Crafts.

Baker began work on the record after cutting his tour schedule short earlier this year. The title Survivors comes from the artist's awe at the resilience of the world during this ongoing global event.

"Just by being alive, you really are this incredibly unlikely success," Baker wrote in a statement. "I kept imagining how I got to be here, alive, and all of the ancestors that came before me."

The five-track EP was culled from recording sessions from his 2019 record, Forever Overhead.

He explained further in the following statement:

I've always made twenty songs to keep ten, and the Forever Overhead sessions were no different. You've maybe heard some of the songs that didn't make it, on the Side Door Sessions. Or you've maybe heard some other survivors at a live show. Well, some seemed so relevant to the current moment that they basically stood up and demanded to be let out. Being no tyrant, I dusted them off, smoothed their lapels, and resolved to send them on their way, on this new EP.

Baker plans to perform the record via two ticketed livestream events this month. Side Door will host the Zoom concerts ahead of the album's release on May 29 and 30. More ticketing information can be found here
