This year marked the 20th anniversary of Aaliyah's death, which was commemorated with the singer's music getting uploaded to streaming services for the first time. In 2022, the artist's legacy will continue to be honoured with the release of a posthumous album, Unstoppable, featuring Drake, Future and others. Today, we're getting a first taste of what's to come with a new single with the Weeknd.

"I'm so excited to share this new song by Aaliyah and the very talented the Weeknd," Aaliyah's uncle, Barry Hankerson, said in a release. "I wanted her adoring fans to get a special gift before the holidays and felt it was the perfect time to release a never-before-heard offering."

Unstoppable will arrive sometime next year via Hankerson's Blackground Records 2.0 and Empire.

Last night (December 16), the Weeknd dropped another collaboration, "Tears in the Club," with FKA twigs.
