Sad news comes today from Canadian rap troupe the Sorority. After a long three years together, the group formed by Haviah Mighty, Keysha Freshh and Lex Leosis are calling it quits.
The announcement arrives via the Sorority themselves today, saying the split comes from a need to focus on their solo careers. Read their statement below.
It's with a bittersweet feeling in our hearts that we have all decided to focus our energies on our individual careers and make this current tour our last tour and the last chance to see us as The Sorority. Over 3 years we've formed a bond as sisters and we'll always remain that way Our outlook on continuing to support women in Hip-hop has never been stronger and though this may be the end of The Sorority, this is by no means the end of Lex Leosis, Haviah Mighty and Keysha Freshh. We hope to see all the amazing fans, supporters and those that have helped us along the way in the building with us for these last shows. We are honoured to have the best fans in the world who show up and show out each time!
This is the Last call. We want to invite you out to Vancouver, Victoria, Cumberland, Ottawa and Toronto. We've got a special set, surprises and limited edition merch available only at shows. We promise to make it memorable.
We'll continue to uplift, support and love each other down this new path. Bonds like this never break!
See you on the road. Love,
SRTY
