Smashing Pumpkins have announced an extensive tour of North America that will bring them to a pair of cities in Canada this summer. They've enlisted Interpol and Rival Sons for the trek, with Stone Temple Pilots joining on select dates.
The World Is a Vampire Tour begins in July with a double-header in Las Vegas on the 28th and 30th. From there, they'll head to Salt Lake City, Dallas, Tampa and more, before stopping by Toronto's Budweiser Stage and Ottawa's Canadian Tire Centre on September 2 and 3, respectively. The leg wraps up in Noblesville, IN, on September 9.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on March 31 at 10am local, with presales happening today at 12 p.m. local until Thursday, March 30 at 10 p.m. local.
"I grew up in a world where I needed to know bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees and the Cure existed, it meant there was a place for people like me to hang out and belong," bandleader Billy Corgan said in a release.
"That's what the World Is a Vampire is about," he continued. "Bringing back that sense of community. If you don't fit in, you belong here. It's about having a shared experience and respecting others, but ultimately having fun. A true alternative festival, where all the self-proclaimed weirdos and outsiders of the world can get together and have a party."
