Rick Ross has announced the title and release date of his eleventh studio album. Richer Than I've Ever Been, out December 10, comes complete with opulent cover art (seen above) that shows something of a new look for the Maybach Music Group kingpin — which the internet has wasted no time poking fun at.
Richer Than I've Ever Been appears to be the first of Ross's studio albums to not prominently feature himself since 2014's Hood Billionaire.
On it, he hides his face behind a pair of white gloves, sporting a boss-sized ring on his right hand's pinky finger. The ensemble is completed by a pastel-coloured hat, and a jacket featuring an incredibly detailed brooch on its lefthand side.
If one shouldn't judge a book by its cover, than surely the same would apply to albums of recorded music. However, sometimes we just can't help ourselves. While its extravagance is not out of character in the least, that's exactly what has transpired upon Ross's new cover art hitting the internet.
On the cover of Richer Than I've Ever Been, Ross has been likened to everyone from Queen Elizabeth, to a star on Golden Girls or a new season of Bridgerton. In more detailed interpretations, he is "dressing like a magician and playing peekaboo," "a lady at church getting a compliment and not wanting to be seen blushing," and "the pastor's mother." Others began wondering how many breath mints Ross kept on hand to dole out with album purchases.
In his Instagram reveal, Ross noted that the cover art for Richer Than I've Ever Been was shot by Jonathan Mannion, who previously snapped covers for the artist's Trilla (2008), Deeper Than Rap (2009) and Teflon Don (2010), on top of other iconic artwork for JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, DMX, Gucci Mane, Eminem, Sum 41 and many more.
For now, you can read through some wisecracks until Richer Than I've Ever Been arrives in December. First single "Outlaws," featuring Jazmine Sullivan and 21 Savage, arrives next Friday (November 12).
