The Olivia Tremor Control's singer-guitarist Will Cullen Hart has died at the age of 53.

His death was announced by Robert Schneider of the band Apples in Stereo. Schneider wrote on Facebook that Cullen died "this morning of natural causes, suddenly, peacefully, and in a very happy mood around the release of the two new OTC songs."

Hart led the Olivia Tremor Control as well as the spinoff project Circulatory System. He co-founded the Elephant 6 Recording Company — the collective often known simply as Elephant 6 — which also included breakout bands Neutral Milk Hotel and of Montreal.

The Olivia Tremor Control broke up in 2000, but had been reunited since 2009. For around two decades, Hart had been dealing with health issues due to multiple sclerosis, which reduced his mobility.
