Victoria, BC's crown jewel of metalcore and 2 Chainz wannabes Spiritbox have more to tell of the story behind Eternal Blue, their 2021 debut album — and they're taking on an entirely new medium in the process.

Alongside writer Jim Krueger and artist Amilcar Pinna, the band has announced Eternal Blue: A Spiritbox Graphic Novelset to release via Z2 Comics in June.

The graphic novel invites us into the world of protagonist Eva, a painter on the verge of immense success, who is struggling to reconcile the public's perception of her and who she really is. It chronicles her journey of being transported into a surreal shadow world through — you guessed it — a spiritbox.

"I am in love with this story and artwork. I cannot wait for you to discover Eva and the world that she has been thrust into," vocalist Courtney LaPlante said in a statement.

She continued:

It truly is an extension of my feelings and the state of mind I held while writing our album Eternal Blue and the lyrics that resonate with me still. Although we are very different, I can't help but let a lot of myself seep into Eva's personality and experiences. I care about her so much. Jim and Amilcar are brilliant and we are so happy to share this with you after keeping it to ourselves for so long.

Eternal Blue: A Spiritbox Graphic Novel
is now available for pre-order in a variety of versions and bundles — some even including a functional spiritbox, which is also available for purchase separate from the book.
