Belgian electro crew Soulwax are set to return with a brand new studio album next month. Titled FROM DEWEE, the all-caps album will arrive on March 24 via Play It Again Sam.
It marks the follow-up to the band's original Belgica soundtrack, which was released last year. Prior to that, the group released a remix album in 2007, and a compilation titled This Is Radio Soulwax back in 2006, leaving 2005's Nite Versions standing as Soulwax's last proper studio album.
According to a tweet from Soulwax, the forthcoming LP was recorded just two days ago and laid down at their own studio in a single take.
The new music was inspired by their "Transient Program for Drums and Machinery" live show, which the group performed last year. FROM DEEWEE hears brothers and band leaders Stephen and David Dewaele attempting to recapture the sounds from the tour, using the same setup, machines and accompanying musicians from the live performances.
Stefaan Van Leuven, Iggor Cavalera, Victoria Smith, Blake Davies and Laima Leyton are all featured on the album, as is an impressive array of guitars, Mellotron, drums and plenty of vintage synthesizers.
