Shintaro Sakamoto

"Let's Dance Raw"

With Shintaro Sakamoto's sophomore solo effort Let's Dance Raw now fit with a proper North American release date, the Japanese rock figure is giving fans that didn't manage to already snag an import copy a taste of the album's "space age bachelor pad music." The latest reveal is the title track, an interstellar slow jam.

The track meshes plenty of weirdness in its runtime, playing around with subtle but funky '70s rhythms, the frenetic bounce of congas and the ethereal hum of country and western steel guitar. As previously reported, Sakamoto spent time ahead of the recording sessions learning how to master the slip-and-slide nature of the stringed instrument.

You can check out the disco-leaning genre mashup down below, while Let's Dance Raw officially arrives on our shores September 16 through Other Music Recording Co./Fat Possum.
