As previously reported, Japanese rock visionary Shintaro Sakamoto is coming back into our lives via his Let's Dance Raw. Up to this point, though, we had yet to have any actual songs to give us an idea what to expect. Thankfully, that's all now changed.
The former Yura Yura Teikoku frontman has revealed a new video for his sophomore solo effort's lead-off single "Birth of the Super Cult," a track that continues to explore Sakamoto's love of exotica-themed percussion, sun-baked soft-rock vibes and the straight-up weird. Equipped with a pedal steel, Sakamoto plays it mega chill in the video, with his helium-voiced companion often stealing the show as he floats in the background.
Check it out the Yasuyuki Yamaguchi-directed video down below to see what we mean.
Let's Dance Raw arrives May 28 on Sakamoto's Zelone Records.
