It's been a while since we've heard new music from Winnipeg pop sextet Royal Canoe, but the band will be getting back on the road for a number dates this spring.
While the group have a pair of shows coming up in Austin this week as part of SXSW, they will be undertaking a headlining Canadian tour in May. This run of dates has them topping the bill, with BC folkie Hannah Epperson and the Wet Secrets supporting on select dates around Ontario and Quebec.
Royal Canoe will take a month-long breather before getting back to the club circuit, though these June dates find the act supporting Montreal indie rock outfit Plants and Animals. Canadian shows on this leg of the trip run from Edmonton out to Victoria.
It's added in a press release that Royal Canoe will be premiering some new songs throughout the tour. Though info is scarce, it's noted that some of the material "may be destined for a not-so-distant-future release."
