Ahead of the release of his upcoming solo album Sinematic (due September 20 via UMe/Universal Music Canada), the Band's Robbie Robertson has shared a new Beatles-inspired track "Let Love Reign," which you can listen to down below.

On the new song, Robertson had this to say (in a statement via Rolling Stone):

Some people think John Lennon's dream about love and togetherness went up in flames. I think that's wrong. It's everlasting. There was something a little naive about John Lennon going around singing about peace, but in that period young people celebrating love and peace helped end a war.

Robertson previously released another Sinematic single, "I Hear You Paint Houses" featuring Van Morrison, earlier this summer. Sinematic marks the first full-length album from Robertson since 2011's How to Become Clairvoyant.

On Sinematic, Robertson drew inspiration from the upcoming Daniel Roher-directed documentary about the Band, Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band, as well as writing the film score to the upcoming Martin Scorsese-directed The Irishmen.

Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band will premiere at TIFF on September 5.
