The record marks the seventh full-length from the California brothers Jeff and Steve McDonald, and their first since 2012's Researching the Blues. It was recorded by the brothers themselves and includes guest guitar from the Melvins' Buzz Osborne, as well as contributions from Red Hot Chili Peppers' Josh Klinghoffer, That Dog's Anna Waronker, and Geré Fennelly.
