Halifax's long-running OBEY Convention is set to return with another mind-expanding lineup later this spring. After their initial announcement, fest organizers have added more acts to the bill.
Headlining the festival is Syrian electro explorer Omar Souleyman, who just this morning announced his new Bahdeni Nami LP.
The lineup's expansion also includes Haligonian composer Rebecca Baxter, Winnipeg pianist Lubomyr Melnyk and New York outsiders Bing & Ruth.
There's also scheduled appearances from Moss Lime, Bonnie Doon, N213's Group Vision, JFM, Ali Zhang, Hey Mother Death, JOYFULTALK, Not the Wind Not the Flag, Gift From God, Vulva Culture and others.
These additions join previously announced artists Peter Brötzmann, Last Lizard (the new project of ex-Dirty Beaches experimenter Alex Zhang Hungtai), Absolutely Free, Homeshake, Noveller, Container, RAMZi, You'll Never Get to Heaven and Gashrat.
Obey Convention VIII runs from May 21 to 24 in Halifax. Passes to the convention are available here.
