Noah Reid hit it big back in 2018 when his Schitt's Creek character performed a soulful cover of Tina Turner's "The Best" onscreen, dedicating the song to his partner (played by Dan Levy). Since then, he's released a couple of albums and gotten pretty huge, but the star has now announced that he's bringing it all back home to Toronto for a weekend of performances in the east end.
Reid has announced a two-night stay at Crow's Theatre at Dundas and Carlaw, at which he'll play country covers for a "sophisticated reimagining of the genre's most iconic works." His mini-residency will run as part of the Crow's Cabaret from September 20 to 21.
Crow's Theatre will continue its multi-night programming throughout the fall, offering weekend performances by Canada's Drag Race alum Tynomi Banks, Stephen Brower, and Sarah Farb and Britta Johnson.
Paolo Santalucia, Associate Artistic Director of Crow's Theatre, shared of the programming in a release, "Inspired by similar spaces in major theatres across the world, we're thrilled to be curating a diverse range of programming that fosters both artistic excellence and genuine community engagement. Crow's Cabaret is an invitation for audiences to experience our theatre in new and unexpected ways, hopefully deepening their connection to the cultural pulse of the city."
Tickets for each event are $35. Shows start at 8 p.m. Get more information here.
