After his highly anticipated A Night of Leonard Cohen performances with the Colorado Symphony for their Imagination Artist Series, Nathaniel Rateliff is bringing his celebration of the Canadian icon's life and songs to Toronto and Montreal for a pair of special performances this spring.
The Night Sweats bandleader will perform songs from Cohen's illustrious catalogue with the 40-piece Wordless Orchestra at Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall on April 20 and Montreal's Salle Wilfrid Pelletier at Place des Arts on April 22, with support from virtuosic pianist (and Rateliff's frequent collaborator) Phil Cook.
Blending his folk, Americana and blues influences with Cohen's timeless lyrics from "Hallelujah" to "Suzanne," Rateliff's shows will allow audiences to "witness the power of songwriting to touch the deepest recesses of the soul," according to press notes.
Tickets go on sale Friday (March 1) at 10 a.m. local, following presales starting Wednesday (February 28) with the code "COHEN."
