Last year, Ti West returned from an extended hiatus with the pulpy, porny '70s slasher X, which introduced the world to Mia Goth's Maxine (and her arguably more iconic Pearl) and co-starred Kid Cudi, Jenna Ortega and Brittany Snow as a ragtag crew of horny filmmakers who, spoiler, end up getting picked off by a couple of elderly psychos.
West followed that movie with its even-more-popular prequel Pearl, which told the backstory of Goth's murderous geriatric. And sometime soon, West and Goth will be closing out the trilogy with MaXXXine, which takes place after X and sees Goth's Maxine go to '80s Hollywood in pursuit of stardom.
Goth won't be carrying the movie alone, however. Today sees the announcement of two famous musicians who'll be joining the cast — Moses Sumney (who is also featured in the Weeknd's seemingly cursed The Idol) and Halsey are set to appear in the film, alongside Elizabeth Debicki, Kevin Bacon, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins and Giancarlo Esposito.
A24 revealed the news in a Twitter video that features some decade-appropriate VHS grain and is soundtracked by Animotion's "Obsession." Check it out below.
