"Live for Nothing" (video)

Toronto artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Mormor is ready to reveal his first music video, and Exclaim! has got your first look at the visuals for "Live for Nothing."

The song is a brooding, sentimental cut of dream pop that boasts additional production by Beirut's Kelly Pratt, who has also collaborated with Arcade Fire and St. Vincent. The clip features a group of girlfriends out for a night of partying. One pal in particular takes a bit of a darker trip than the others, finding herself alienated from her surroundings and trying a bit too hard to drown her sorrows with wine and pills.

"The 'Live for Nothing' video captures the mundanity and mood that some of us feel amongst our peers," Mormor explained in a statement. "I came up with the concept of the video. I wanted the viewer to see the perspective of someone who felt rather numb in a social situation. It is relatable to feel lonely in a room full of people; everyone has had that feeling."

Fellow Toronto musician Mieke even makes a cameo in the clip. Keep an eye out for her as you watch the protagonist work her way through loneliness in the video premiere of "Live for Nothing" in the player below.
