Missy Elliott Reportedly Added to Katy Perry's Super Bowl Halftime Show

Considering her affinity for snack-based costumes and odes to pyrotechnics, Katy Perry seems the perfect fit for this weekend's Super Bowl halftime show. It's now been announced, however, that she'll be getting some help onstage courtesy of Missy Elliott.

Earlier this week, Perry hinted at the collaboration, saying that an "old school" female artist would be joining her during the show. "When you hear the first ring of the chord," Perry said, "I think jaws will drop and faces will melt."

The Associated Press is now reporting — based on information from an anonymous source — that the guest will be Elliott.

The iconic rapper appeared on the remix to Perry's 2011 hit "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," and will presumably be joining the singer to deliver her bit from that song.

Elliott hasn't released a full-length album since 2005's The Cookbook, but she did deliver a couple of new tracks back in 2012.

Lenny Kravitz will also appear during the halftime show.
