Arizona-bred rock vets Meat Puppets return this April with their Rat Farm LP, but you can test the waters a little early via the recently revealed "Down."
The slightly boogieing number brings together some expansive guitar jangling and mellow organ runs, as well as some summery solo noodling that sounds as if it would play well off a local festival stage. The brothers Kirkwood bring the song into down-home territory, though, singing about sword-swingin' boys chasing cats around the yard.

As previously reported, Rat Farm, Meat Puppets' 14th album overall, arrives April 16 through Megaforce Records.
