StreetRunner has been spending his 2016 waxing nostalgic on a number of Lil Wayne tracks. After remastering cuts like "Trouble" and "Let's Talk It Over," the producer has now dusted off the dancehall-inspired "RappaPomPom."
The revived rap song first took shape a decade ago, with StreetRunner setting up Weezy with the organ and gunshot-fried beat. He also introduced the spitter to guest vocalist Junior Reid.
"'RappaPomPom' was recorded early 2006," StreetRunner explained in a statement. "I passed Wayne a beat cd at the studio and 15min later got the call to hold this track down. Wayne recorded this song and another off the same cd in less then 2 hours. At that point I knew he was going to be a beast!"
