Lil Yachty became an Exclaim! favourite in 2023 for his daring project Let's Start Here — which landed among our top 50 albums of the year — and now he's carrying that momentum north of the border once again for a marketing campaign with McDonald's Canada.
The partnership is certainly random, but, like it or not, Yachty is the new face of McDonald's in Canada, gracing the company's Instagram profile picture and treating fans to a brand new track introducing the upcoming menu.
Yachty has spoken in the past about how hating his student job at a McDonald's in his hometown of Atlanta inspired him to pursue rapping. Now, why he teamed up with the Canadian McDonald's is anyone's guess.
The rapper's "Menu Song Remix" came out today with a music video, and, if you ignore the advertising lyrics, it's actually not bad. Montreal's Mike Clay also hopped on for a French-language version of the track. Check out both below.
