Pioneering queer country artist Lavender Country — helmed by songwriter Patrick Haggerty — has announced plans for his first new album in 40 years. Titled Blackberry Rose, the record is due to arrive on February 18 via Don Giovanni.

The album was previously self-released in a small run sold at concerts in 2019, so February's release will mark the album's first run on a major label. Blackberry Rose is Lavender Country's sophomore record and the official follow-up to his self-titled debut.

Today, we're getting out first taste of what's to come of the new album in a reimagined version of the singer's 1973 single "I Can't Shake the Stranger Out of You." Hear the reworked single below, where you'll also find the album's tracklisting.
