Next week, the continuously popular Grand Theft Auto Online will undergo update "The Cayo Perico Heist," which will also mark "the biggest ever musical update" to the game's beloved musical universe. As part of the update, Julian Casablancas will now become one of the in-game radio hosts.

The Strokes' frontman will join the likes of Flying Lotus, Kenny Loggins, Gilles Peterson and more as a virtual radio jock in the world of GTA V, helming new station KULT FM 99.1.

Developer Rockstar Games notes that guests on Casablancas' station will include Mac DeMarco, David Cross and Tony Mac, while a new Voidz song called "Alien Crime Lord" will have its "world exclusive premiere" on the virtual airwaves.

As for the station's playlist, it's said to range "from the Madchester sounds of Joy Division, New Order and A Certain Ratio to heavy throwbacks from Danzig, the Velvet Underground and Iggy Pop, and everything in between."

Continuing to invite DJs into the virtual world, GTA Online's update will also introduce new nightclub Music Locker, with its accompanying radio station featuring sets from Moodymann, Palms Trax and more.

Joy Orbison will launch a station of his own, "Still Slipping Los Santos," while Peterson and Flying Lotus will turn in all-new radio mixes for their respective spots on the dial.

Grand Theft Auto Online's "Cayo Perico Heist" update arrives December 15, and you can find a trailer below.

First released in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V stands as the second best-selling video game of all time, and one of the most profitable media properties of all time as of 2018. Versions of the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are slated for release in late 2021.
