Joni Mitchell's revered fourth album Blue turns 50 years old tomorrow (June 22), and the artist is marking the occasion today with the arrival of demos and outtakes from the release.

Digital EP Blue 50 (Demos & Outtakes) features early demos of "A Case of You" and "California," an alternate version of "River" with French horns, an early take of rarity "Urge for Going" with strings, and a studio recording of "Hunter," a song that has never appeared on a Mitchell studio album.

These selections arrive ahead of The Reprise Albums (1968-1971), which collects remastered versions of Blue and Mitchell's three preceding albums: 1968 debut Song to a Seagull, 1969's Clouds and 1970's Ladies of the Canyon.

The box set arrives in CD and vinyl editions on June 25 and follows Mitchell's The Early Years (1963-1967), which arrived last year. That archival release collected nearly six hours of unreleased home, live and radio recordings, along with 29 previously unreleased songs.
