Like Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen before him, Montreal-based singer-songwriter JF Robitaille is a natural born storyteller. Nowhere is this more evident than on his newest LP, Rival Hearts, which you can stream in its entirety ahead of its August 27 release.
Expanding upon the groundwork laid in his 2006 debut The Blood in My Body and 2011's Calendar, Robitaille delivers folk-tinged pop in same vein as Conor Oberst and Kings of Convenience, but with the steady self-assuredness of songwriters twice his age.
Hear for yourself by listening to Rival Hearts, due out via Sparks Music/Universal Music Canada, in the player below.
Check out Robitaille's official CD releases on August 26 at Montreal's O Patro Vý and August 27 at Toronto's the Rivoli.
