Honus Honus

"Heavy Jesus" (video)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 25, 2016

Some people would be plenty pleased to find the smiling mug of "our lord and saviour" burned onto their burrito wrap, but that's not the case for the star of Honus Honus's new music video for solo single "Heavy Jesus." In fact, she's straight up annoyed about the mealtime blessing.

The self-directed video first finds the Man Man frontman riding around town on his motorcycle, but quickly shifts its focus to a metalhead whose late night taco stand adventure changes her life for the worse. Of the many disturbances, she gets bugged by Jesus freaks asking if the Nazarene's a chill dude and has a bedroom riff fest interrupted by a sanctimonious bird.

The dove destroyer ain't got time for "Heavy Jesus," as the gleeful doo-wop song explains, but book a little bit of time out of your day to watch Honus Honus's video down below.

"Heavy Jesus" comes from Honus Honus's forthcoming, Kickstarter-funded solo debut, Use Your Delusion. As previously reported, he recorded the "apocalyptic L.A. pop" album with Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Shannon & the Clams' Shannon Shaw, drummer Joe Plummer, and sax-y comedian Jon Daly. You can pre-order the album here.
