Man Man's Honus Honus Announces 'Use Your Delusion' Solo LP

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 31, 2016

After fronting eclectic rock ensemble Man Man for years, Honus Honus has announced he's about to go solo. The musician's first full-length on his own has been given the Guns N' Roses-alluding title of Use Your Delusion.

An ETA on the LP has yet to be determined, but Honus Honus announced the release today (March 31) by launching a PledgeMusic campaign. There, he described the set as an "apocalyptic L.A. pop" album. While a tracklisting has yet to be proffered, a trailer has premiered a snippet of new music. You'll find the clip down below.

While presented as a solo album, Use Your Delusion was put together by Honus Honus and a team of musicians. This includes actor Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane, Death Proof) and Shannon & the Clams' Shannon Shaw, who both contributed vocals, and drummer Joe Plummer. Comedian Jon Daly also apparently "serves up some non-funny but quite saucy, sexy sax action."

The PledgeMusic page offers Use Your Delusion on LP, CD and as a digital bundle, but Honus Honus is also offering up other incentives through the campaign. Other items up for grabs include a custom jean vest, smashed-up keys from an organ he used to play in Man Man, signed test pressings, a bowling date, and the chance to have him perform at your home.

You'll find all of the details over here.

Man Man's last full-length release was 2013's On Oni Pond. Honus Honus and drummer Plummer had also teamed up with Islands' Nick Thorburn and actor Michael Cera as Mister Heavenly, who issued their Out of Love in 2011.
