Orchestral folk-pop ensemble Hey Marseilles's upcoming deluxe edition of their sophomore album, Lines We Trace, doesn't arrive until October 22 via Dine Alone Records. But until then, listen to album extra "Lift Your Eyes" in the player below.
Formed in Seattle by singer-songwriter Matt Bishop, the lush-sounding six-piece deliver the same kind of roots-y flair as fellow Washintonites Fleet Foxes, but with the candid romanticism of Ben Gibbard and the Decemberists. Nowhere is this more evident than on "Lift Your Eyes," which manages to roll all those stylistic traits into one, while still managing to create an acoustic drama and tension that would sound right at home on a Walker Brothers record.
