Montreal-based post-punks and Exclaim! Class of 2020 alumni Dish Pit have shared "Plaza People," the band's third single from their forthcoming full-length debut, which they recorded with veteran producer Steve Albini in 2019. The trio have also shared a haunting music video for the track.
"Plaza People" was written by singer/guitarist Nora Kelly during a social experiment she conducted last year, where she stayed indoors for 10 days — an eerie precursor to the months of social isolation that would follow thanks to COVID-19.
If the coincidence wasn't spooky enough, the accompanying video certainly will be, which finds band members lying in bed while resembling corpses, dancing around in the darkness lit only by candles, shrieking by the waterside and taking a series of spooky baths, along with creepy footage of animals.
