Nora Kelly Band — fronted by DISHPIT's Nora Kelly and featuring members of Fleece, Bell Orchestre and Treasure Eyes — have announced plans for their debut album, arriving sometime in 2022. While we await further details on that, the band have treated us to their debut single.

A far cry from the grungy atmosphere and snotty tones of DISHPIT, "Hymn for Agnostics" is a slow-burning alt-country number that still delivers biting lyrics like, "If there is a God / Then he needed Man / To tell him that Eden was good work." The song recalls the gentler work of other firebrands like Sarah Shook or Lydia Loveless.

In a press release, Kelly said of the track, "'Hymn for Agnostics' is for those of us who have no religion to lean on but who's [sic] faith in the spiritual is supported in our connections with each other, the planet and ourselves."

The group recently graduated from Exclaim!'s Class of 2022, performing alongside Vintage Boring at the Monarch Tavern in Toronto last month. As per a release, more shows are on the horizon.

For now, check out their new song and video below.
